Discover the Extraordinary World of Arizona Theatre Company – One of the Great American Regional Theatres

At Arizona Theatre Company, we are not just a professional nonprofit theatre company; we are a cultural cornerstone, a catalyst for creativity, and a vibrant hub where art takes center stage.

Recognized as the Official State Theatre of Arizona with a legacy spanning back to 1966, we have an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional theatrical experiences to the communities of Tucson and Phoenix. As the sole LORT (League of Resident Theatres) professional nonprofit regional theatre in Arizona, we proudly set the gold standard for artistic excellence and innovation.

ATC is led by Executive Director Geri Wright and Kasser Family Artistic Director Matt August. Each season, ATC employs world-class artists to produce professional theatre, reaching an audience of over 130,000 patrons through mainstage productions, student matinees, and community outreach.

We believe in the transformative power of art. Through our education and outreach initiatives, we ignite young minds, sow seeds of inspiration, and cultivate the artists and audiences of tomorrow. ATC extends beyond the curtain to engage with schools, communities, and curious minds hungry for the magic of theatre.

ATC shares the power of theatre through a variety of outreach programs, educational opportunities, access initiatives, and community events. Including our National Latine Playwrights Award and Festival.

“Arizona Theatre Company is a safe, welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community, their families, and all individuals, without discrimination. As a performing arts institution, we are here to tell stories that create empathy and joy and foster civil communications beyond our theatre’s walls. Our work as artists impacts the greater community and supports our mission, which is to create world-class theatre about what it means to be alive today – inspiring curiosity and creativity, sparking empathy and joy – bringing ALL Arizonans together.  If you are a drag artist, or a transgender, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming artist, crew member, or staff member working at Arizona Theatre Company, WE SUPPORT YOU.  We are watching anti-drag legislation closely and will not change the work we do on our stages or in our gathering spaces. We understand that this proposed legislation is not just threatening marginalized groups of people and their livelihoods—it threatens all of us.”
