Barefoot in the Park

America’s Best Rom-Com!
In a case of opposites attract, blissful young newlyweds struggle to get along in their Manhattan fixer-upper apartment. Barefoot in the Park is among the top 10 longest-running non-musical plays in Broadway history, and it was turned into a blockbuster movie.

Three Things to Know:

  1. Barefoot in the Park was adapted into a 1967 feature film, starring Robert Redford, Jane Fonda, Mildred Natwick and Charles Boyer.
  2. The play opened on Broadway at the Biltmore Theatre on October 23, 1963. It was Neil Simon’s longest-running hit, and the tenth-longest running non-musical play in Broadway history.
  3. Barefoot in the Park was nominated for Four Tony Awards, winning Best Direction of a Play in 1964.
